Sil&Add in short

Sil&Add is a research and engineering company specializing in the design of noise reduction products.

The company was founded in 2023 in Le Mans, Sarthe (72), Pays de la Loire, France. It is supported by Le Mans Innovation and Réseau Initiative Sarthe. It has been awarded the “Deeptech” label by BPI France, which has granted it a grant (BFTE) to support its R&D and structuring.

In a world where speed and excitement are omnipresent, we need to be able to access a quiet sound environment when we want, and limit our noise footprint.

Our mission is to solve noise problems with new, high-performance products that are affordable and easy to install.

This design is based on our expertise in additive manufacturing, conventional materials, acoustic metamaterials and modeling - COMSOL Certified Consultant. Our expertise is focused on efficiency. Design efficiency and product efficiency: performance at the right cost.

Our expertise is complemented by the indispensable work of our partners in measurement, product design and industrialization.

Sil&Add has its origins in the thesis of its founder, Jean Boulvert. From 2017 to 2020, I worked with the Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Mans (LAUM - UMR CNRS 6613), the Laboratoire d'Analyse Vibratoire et Acoustique de Polytechnique Montréal (LAVA), and French engine manufacturer Safran Aircraft Engines.

My research focused on the development of new acoustic materials to reduce noise in future aircraft engines, using additive manufacturing. This work led to the creation of materials with remarkable acoustic and mechanical properties.

Following this thesis, and a year as a post-doc, I embarked on the Sil&Add adventure.
