Sil&Add in short

Sil&Add is a research and engineering company specialising in the design of noise reduction products.

Our mission is to solve noise problems by developing new materials and products that are effective, affordable and easy to implement.

This design is based on our expertise in additive manufacturing, conventional materials, acoustic metamaterials and modelling - COMSOL Certified Consultant. Our expertise is focused on efficiency. Efficiency in design and efficiency in the products we create: performance at the right cost.

Our expertise is complemented by the indispensable work of our partners in measurement, product design and industrialisation.

Sil&Add was founded in 2023 in Le Mans, Sarthe (72), Pays de la Loire, France. It is supported by Le Mans Innovation, Réseau Initiative Sarthe, and Le Village by CA. It has been awarded the ‘Deeptech’ label by BPI France, which has granted it a grant (BFTE) to support its R&D and structuring. Since 2025, it has been a partner of Sound Hub Denmark.

Sil&Add has its origins in the thesis of its founder, Jean Boulvert. From 2017 to 2020, I worked with the Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Mans (LAUM - UMR CNRS 6613), the Laboratoire d'Analyse Vibratoire et Acoustique de Polytechnique Montréal (LAVA), and French engine manufacturer Safran Aircraft Engines.

My research focused on the development of new acoustic materials to reduce noise in future aircraft engines, using additive manufacturing. This work led to the creation of materials with remarkable acoustic and mechanical properties.

Following this thesis, and a year as a post-doc, I embarked on the Sil&Add adventure.
